Dear members and friends of L200,
Since the lockdown due to the corona crisis, on 16 March, the L200 has been closed. Many things are still unclear and the effects will certainly continue to accompany us for a long time. But let's dare to take a first opening step. This means very careful planning and organisation to ensure and maintain the rules of hygiene and physical distance.
Initial opening hours (L200-Ecke) starting from May 22nd
- Tuesday 17:30-19:30
- Friday 17:30-19:30
In general, the following uses are possible by arrangement up to 5 persons (see detailed rules in PS):
- Small meetings, social gatherings, or teleconferences (see photos)
- Co-Working
- Pop-up shops
Furthermore, the street windows are still available for rent. Priority will be given to local businesses. And new ideas welcome, e.g. a street gallery?
Note that the abrupt closure of the L200 has enormous financial consequences for our association. A request for a rent reduction is currently being clarified. In order to keep the damage as small as possible, we have decided on a slow opening. This needs a significant effort, which is done by all of us on a voluntary basis.
So, we would like to ask about your needs and your capacity to support L200.
- What kind of usages could you imagine?
- Would you be willing to support the L200 financially with a donation?
- Would you like to support us by taking over tasks on site (e.g., presence time, cleaning work)?
It is very important for us to get a feeling for the commitment and support of the L200 members in order to be able to plan further. Please take some time to reflect on the role of L200 during these times and the collective efforts that will be needed to get it through the crisis. We are very grateful for your feedback and ideas. Feel free to contact us at info@langstrasse200.ch or come by our L200 on a Tuesday or Friday between 17:30-19:30.
As a concluding note, there is a feeling of loss having to stop the operation of L200 at a moment when it was becoming more and more vibrant and diverse as a space and as a community. But we hope that it will be exactly this key feature, its diversity and flexibility, that will help L200 to redefine itself as needed to address the big challenges that lie ahead.
And this can happen only in collaboration and solidarity!
Thanks a lot,
The L200 board.
PS: According to the current security measures for the Corona virus, the following rules generally apply: https://langstrasse200.ch/pub/de/corona-regeln
PPS: After June 8, the restrictions will probably ease and activities such as the free German course offered by the AOZ will be resumed with a limited number of guests and special measures.
PPPS: The series of events on digital self-defense 7at7, every 7th of the month at 7pm, at L200, has started online on the videoconference server of Digitale Gesellschaft, based on the free software platform BigBlueButton. Information on the scheduled events is available at https://7at7.ch/en/
The last board meeting with half of the board at L200 and the other half at home. Maybe you want to use L200 and its teleconferencing equipment for such "hybrid" teleconferences?
Tuesday May 19th was the first unofficial opening day to clean and test what it means to eat together while adhering to the 2m rule for physical distance.
