Dear L200 members and friends,
This is a quick update with some good news from Langstrasse these (still) difficult times.
Thanks to a 2-month rent waiver and the support of our members, L200 made it through this crisis, and for now it seems that we will make it without deficit until the end of the year. Still, we need to invent new “corona-friendly” ways to use the space, and we are already experimenting with some ideas:

We have installed video & sound equipment that allows for the participation in online meetings and/or streaming of small groups in the space, with very good audiovisual quality. The first experiment was successfully tried in the context of the 7at7 series, https://7at7.ch/july2020/, and more will follow. Stay tuned at https://7at7.ch/en/ and let us know if you would like to organize a panel or roundtable to be streamed online.

The windows can be used as a street gallery. This week started a collective photo exhibition, “moments in dialogue: should I stay or should I go?”, in which you can participate. See https://langstrasse200.ch/fenster-galerie. And we are open to more ideas for making the L200 an exciting display in the neighbourhood.

We have occupied the space with many small tables that allow for small workshops (up to 18 people) that respect the safety measures, like the regular No Sweatshop recycling workshop. - Acknowledging the need for more space for socialization, we experiment with transforming L200 on Friday and Saturday night (20:00-23:00) to a BYO (BringYourOwn) Bar, where L200 members can bring their friends to enjoy their take away food, favorite drinks and music, in a spacious and gemutlich environment right on the Langstrasse!
We are open to other ideas on how we can stay safe but also stay together!

The Vorstand will be working the next period in preparing for our cancelled GV, which will most probably take place in November.
